Who should attend this course?

Plant machinery marshal training courses are designed for people who have been designated with the task of directing site traffic on a construction site. At the end of the course, candidates will have an understanding of the risks involved with the directing of various different pieces of plant machinery and be able to carry out the role of plant machinery marshal with confidence.

Plant Machinery Marshal Training Course Content

Duration: 1 day

Maximum delegates: 3 novices or 6 experienced

At the end of this training course, you will:

  • Have a basic understanding of the industry and the relevant legislation, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as a vehicle/plant machinery marshal
  • Have a good understanding of signs and signals, approved hand signals and different
    forms of communication
  • Identify and maintain PPE appropriate for vehicle/plant machinery marshal
  • Conduct all necessary safety checks at the work area including stop blocks and tipping areas
  • Set up exclusion zone for loading / unloading
  • Guide machinery in a forward and reverse direction including confined spaces and “blind areas” safely and efficiently
  • Environmental considerations
  • Carry out all end of shift and shut down and parking procedures
